Criteria voor diagnose neurosyfilis

De diagnose neurosyfilis is bij de volgende laboratoriumbevindingen waarschijnlijk:

1.             TPHA en/of FTA-ABS in de liquor positief én

2.             óf VDRL-test in liquor positief;

óf IgG-index > 0,70 en/of IgM-index > 0,10

en mononucleaire cellen > 10/mm3 => 10ul

  N.B. Bij HIV-geïnfecteerden tevens HIV-p24 Ag in liquor bepalen. Aanwezigheid daarvan pleit voor HIV-infectie van het CZS.
